Tiff’s Tip #2

Just because your on vacation doesn’t mean you have to break the bank when it comes to food! Even if you want to taste a destination. You can have your cake and eat it too! No matter your diet needs, here’s how to save money on food while traveling!!

We grew up with the food pyramid being a guide to eating healthy balanced meals. Typically, meals consisting of a meat, a veggie and a starch. You may still eat this way, which is totally okay. Everybody is different, eat what works for you and makes you happy!

But, we learn more everyday!

A family member of mine has gone vegan for health reasons. This made me start eating more plant-based foods, and I too saw improvements in my gut health and now I try to eat more plant-based foods. I still will eat meat, just not as often. Who doesn’t crave a juicy cheeseburger every now and then!?

It can be a challenge finding vegetarian/vegan options! And in Europe, it can be hard to find just a salad as your meal! My top 5 destinations (so far) for vegetarian/vegan options at restaurants are:

New York City, USA

Peru

south Africa

France

Wyoming, USA

To save some cash, cook yourself! Bring a cooler bad and shop like a local! No where to cook? If you get a complimentary breakfast, grab some extra or buy something at the market and eat a picnic later!!! The three top reasons to go vegan are - 1) health allergies or concerns, 2) environmental sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint, and 3) the issue of animal cruelty. Everything we do now affects the future!
